Cabo San Lucas and Jacksonville met at Skellington Stadium in front of a lively crowd.
The Cabo San Lucas Toreros beat the Jacksonville Jacks, 8-5, at Skellington Stadium. The win was largely due to the efforts of left fielder Chun-yeong Kwon, who captured player of the game honors. He went 1-2 with a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Cabo San Lucas starter Luis Sánchez was credited with the win after throwing 133 pitches over 7.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-1.
Cabo San Lucas grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Kwon hit a bases-clearing double. His 1st double of the season put the Toreros out in front, 7-4.
"It feels good to get this one," Kwon told the Cabo San Lucas Daily News.
The Toreros, with just their 6th win so far in 2028, have yet to catch fire.
