Castillo Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Fairfield in Walk-Off Win
|
The Fairfield Flash racked up a win at Durham Bulls Athletic Park, bumping off the Amarillo Horseman, 4-3. Bi`nh Trieu, who started for Fairfield, pitched effectively for his team. Fairfield leads the Kade Stenson League Lou Seal Division by 2½ games.
In the bottom of the ninth, with no one out and the game tied, 3-3, catcher Nesto Castillo won it for Fairfield. With the bases empty, Castillo hit a 2-2 slider from Jackson Thompson for a solo home run, giving his team a 4-3 win.
"That's how to finish a ballgame," said Trieu.
