The Fairfield Flash beat the Albuquerque Cacti, 5-2, at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. Fairfield right fielder Floyd Green earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The Flash bumped their record to 37-26 with this latest triumph.

Green had a key at-bat for Fairfield early in the game. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and gave Fairfield an early 4-1 lead.

"I thought we played a nice game," Green told the Fairfield Bulletin. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
