Patey Slugs Baristas to 6-3 Win
|
Fans at Ashton Gate were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Silver Lake Baristas take on the Champaign Chiefs.
Silver Lake designated hitter Tristan Patey was instrumental in his team's 6-3 win over the Champaign Chiefs. Patey went 4-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Baristas. Silver Lake reliever Ehsan Saravati picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-2. Atmananda Katragadda was collared with the loss. The save went to Dost Ghuman, his 10th this season.
The Baristas beat the Chiefs in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Kenshin Yamashita produced in the bottom of the first. Batting against Champaign pitcher Bappaka Ramanakoppa, Yamashita gave his team a 1-0 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Yamashita told the Silver Lake Daily.
Silver Lake currently is in 4th place in the Kade Stenson League Lou Seal Division at 29-30.
