José Morín left his imprint on the 6-3 Des Moines win against the Amarillo Horseman. Morín, who is tied for 10th in the KSL in RBI with 42, was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The second-place Spartans improved to 33-26.
Also pitching for Des Moines was right fielder Bård Tengesdal, who hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, Tengesdal went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
