The Des Moines Spartans and Amarillo Horseman were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at Spartans Park.

Amarillo starter Jim Phillips kept the Des Moines hitters in check, while his team cruised to a 9-0 win. Phillips, now 6-4, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing no earned runs.

Though it wasn't a flawless game -- few are -- the fans who filled the stands at Spartans Park seemed to enjoy watching the Kade Stenson League action.

"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Amarillo manager Okitsugu Azuma.

With the win, the Horseman have a record of 34-23.
