The Fairfield Flash got a scintillating performance from pitcher Ramón Gómez, who shut out the Coronado Phantoms, 3-0. Fairfield is now riding a 3-game win streak.

The Flash beat the Phantoms in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out home run Kohei Matsumoto produced in the bottom of the first. Batting against Coronado pitcher Daniel Wilson, Matsumoto gave his team a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run home run.

Gómez called the triumph "a good team win."
