Fairfield starter Alexis Garrett had a strong outing against the Coronado Phantoms at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 8-4 win. Fairfield reliever Bartolo Núñez picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Scott Roberts took the loss. Fairfield's record now stands at 33-25, placing them first in the Kade Stenson League Lou Seal Division.

Fairfield took a 8-4 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Haden Gregory hit a clutch grand slam home run to bring Flash fans to their feet.

In postgame comments to the Fairfield Bulletin, Gregory said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
