Banditos Prevail, 7-5, Over Fort Worth

Graham Verney did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Fort Worth Cats from losing, 7-5, to the Acapulco Banditos at Underdogs Ballpark. Verney was 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Brad Lyons, the winner, improved to 2-2. He held Fort Worth to 2 runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. Aubert Licci picked up the save, his 12th.
Acapulco grabbed a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the second when Andreas Ryan hit a 2-run single. For the day, Ryan was 1 for 3 with a walk. He drove in 3 runs.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Ryan, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
Acapulco currently is in 5th place in the Kade Stenson League Lou Seal Division at 27-29.
