Mdewanketon center fielder Manchu Liu was instrumental in his team's 19-6 win over the Champaign Chiefs. Liu, who is tied for 10th in the KSL in doubles with 13, went 4-6 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Sabercats. Bob Roy was credited with the save for Mdewanketon, his 2nd of the season. The 5th-place Sabercats have won 4 straight.

The Sabercats beat the Chiefs in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out home run Zhu Thum produced in the bottom of the first. Batting against Champaign pitcher Katsunan Sato, Thum gave his team a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run home run.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Thum told the Mdewanketon Today.
