Baristas Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Escape
|
The Scranton Escape went down to defeat to Roberto Valentín and his Silver Lake teammates. The final score was 3-2 in favor of the Baristas. Silver Lake reliever Dost Ghuman was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Huibert van Claveren took the loss. The 6th-place Baristas raised their record to 24-27.
In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 2-2, right fielder Masamune Fujimoto won it for Silver Lake. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Fujimoto hit a full count fastball from Huibert van Claveren for a run-scoring single, giving his team a 3-2 win.
"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Valentín told the Silver Lake Daily.
