Aeropostales Fall to Arsenal, 6-4
|
The South Bay Arsenal got a rain-soaked win over the Indian Wells Aeropostales at Cruz Bay Park.
The South Bay Arsenal relied on the hitting of designated hitter Bhasin Maqbool to stop the Indian Wells Aeropostales, 6-4. For the game, Maqbool went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Lee Barker, the winner, improved to 5-3. He held Indian Wells to 2 runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, while racking up 10 strikeouts. Getting the save was Lou Cove, his 11th.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, catcher Ken Boyer came through big-time for the Arsenal. With South Bay leading 2-1, he belted a 2-run home run.
"We'll savor this win," Boyer told the South Bay Bulletin, "then get ready for the next game."
The Arsenal' win now puts them at 29-25.
