Baristas Get One-Run Win at Acapulco
|
Underdogs Ballpark was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.
In a tight game between the Silver Lake Baristas and the Acapulco Banditos, pitcher Kaoru Kato was terrific on the mound. The Silver Lake left-hander was named the player of the game in Silver Lake's 2-1 win. The winning pitcher was Kato, now 4-6. He tossed 8 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 5.
Morten Alexander had a productive trip to the plate with two out in the top of the seventh inning. With the bases loaded, he hit a run-scoring single, helping Silver Lake to the win.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Silver Lake manager Chris MacArtney said.
Silver Lake now owns a record of 23-27.
