Spartans Fall Short, 5-4, at Indian Wells
|
Stars Field was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Indian Wells Aeropostales and the Des Moines Spartans.
The Indian Wells Aeropostales topped the Des Moines Spartans by the score of 5-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to second baseman Michel Gérard. Gérard was 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Aeropostales on the day. The Aeropostales go to 33-18, putting them second in the Kade Stenson League Swinging Friar Division.
Gérard had a consequential at-bat in the bottom of the sixth for the Aeropostales. Coming up with runners on 1st and 2nd and Indian Wells trailing 3-2, he hit a 3-run home run.
"Both teams played hard," said Indian Wells manager Brad Anderson.
