Des Moines shortstop Cole Roberts was instrumental in his team's 10-3 win over the Indian Wells Aeropostales. Roberts, who is tied for 2nd in the KSL in doubles with 16, went 3-6 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Spartans. Qi-chang Ec earned the win to go to 1-0. He allowed 3 earned runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. Des Moines, at 27-23, sits in second place in the Kade Stenson League Lou Seal Division.
Doing his part for Des Moines was center fielder Sadakuno Sasaki, who stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the second. For the game, Sasaki went 1 for 5.
