Marauders Bang Out 7-2 Win Versus South Carolina
|
Maple shortstop Jean-Claude Petit made his presence felt in the 7-2 Marauders triumph over the South Carolina Bombers. Petit hit 2 home runs. Landy Lu earned the win to go to 2-1. He allowed 2 earned runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. Adrien Clément got the save, the 2nd for him this season.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases loaded and two out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when center fielder Goldi Lebel, who is tied for 10th in the TML in doubles with 5, got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run. The Marauders went on to win.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Petit told the Maple Gazette.
The Marauders raised their record to 9-7.
