|
The Coronado Phantoms got a strong performance from pitcher Salah bin Atif, who stymied the Albuquerque offense en route to a 4-2 win at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. The winning pitcher was bin Atif, now 3-0. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 10. Ajdir Kasakya was credited with the save for Coronado, his 8th of the season.
Chong-chun P'o's at-bat in the top of the seventh inning was a big one for Coronado. Coming to bat with one out, the bases loaded and Coronado leading 3-2, the center fielder hit a sacrifice fly.
"We'll savor this win," bin Atif told the Coronado Herald, "then get ready for the next game."
Coronado is now 26-22, while Albuquerque is 26-22.
