Aeropostales Win at Amarillo, 9-4
|
With right fielder Steve O'Farrell leading the charge, the Indian Wells Aeropostales defeated the Amarillo Horseman, 9-4, at Horseman Field. O'Farrell went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Indian Wells starter Fred Watson was credited with the win after throwing 106 pitches over 5.2 innings. His record now stands at 4-6. Wayne Penfield, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
O'Farrell had a key at-bat for Indian Wells early in the game. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and gave Indian Wells an early 3-0 lead.
"We came out aggressive," said Indian Wells Aeropostales manager Brad Anderson. "We came out swinging the bats."
The first-place Aeropostales have a one-game lead in their division.
