In a well-pitched game between the Silver Lake Baristas and the Fairfield Flash, pitcher Jan Shirazi was fantastic. The Silver Lake left-hander was named the player of the game in Silver Lake's 3-1 win. Shirazi, now 1-1, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 1 earned run. Earning his 7th save for Silver Lake was Dost Ghuman.
Pedro García had a big at-bat in the bottom of the fourth inning for the Baristas. With his team down, 1-0, the catcher hit a 2-run double, to put Silver Lake ahead.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," García told the Silver Lake Daily.
With the win, the Baristas have a record of 21-24.
