Victory Over Cacti Takes Indian Wells to 30-14
|
The first-place Indian Wells Aeropostales welcomed Albuquerque to Stars Field.
The Indian Wells Aeropostales dealt the Albuquerque Cacti a 4-2 loss at Stars Field. Sean Childers was the star on offense. He was 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. Bart Pettifer got the win, improving to 5-2. He held the Cacti to 2 runs on 5 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 10 and walking 1.
Steve O'Farrell wielded some clout for Indian Wells. The right fielder had a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first for the Aeropostales. It put his team ahead, 2-0, and sent them on to victory. For the game, O'Farrell was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
Albuquerque manager Jorge Velásquez said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
Indian Wells has an impressive 30-14 record.
