Albuquerque starter Augusto Sánchez had a strong outing against the Fort Worth Cats at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. Sánchez went 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 2-3. Tsuneyo Kakutama, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save.

In the bottom of the fourth inning of a 2-2 tie, Albuquerque catcher Sergio Villalobos hit a sacrifice fly. It broke the deadlock and put Albuquerque on top, 3-2.

"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Villalobos. "I think we're going to keep proving that."

The 4th-place Cacti raised their record to 23-19.
