Wranglers Take Close Win Over Cacti
|
Bulldog Stadium was the site of a tense game between the Albuquerque Cacti and Wichita Wranglers.
In a low-scoring affair between the Wichita Wranglers and the Albuquerque Cacti, pitcher Duk-yeo Ch'oe was the difference between victory and defeat. The Wichita left-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-1 Wranglers win. Wichita is now 14-23, Albuquerque 19-18.
In a game filled with surprises, perhaps none was as big as Ch'oe's contribution. The Wichita designated hitter is a relative newcomer. With no one out in the bottom of the eighth, when the Wranglers had a runner on 1st, Ch'oe delivered a crucial 2-run home run.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Wichita manager Claudio Rojas said.
