Scranton got a strong outing from Melvyn Maisonneuve as the Escape defeated the Des Moines Spartans, 4-2, at Hell Stadium. Maisonneuve picked up the win for Scranton, going 5.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-3. Scranton's record now stands at 10-26, placing them last in the Kade Stenson League Lou Seal Division.
Chris Keller went 2-4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs for Scranton. With two out and the game tied in the bottom of the third, Keller had a clutch at-bat. Facing Des Moines hurler Brahmanida Raviraj, he hit a bases-clearing double to give the Escape a 4-1 lead.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Des Moines skipper Clement Snow, "and it cost us."
