Aeropostales Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
The Indian Wells Aeropostales overcame a good performance by Fort Worth designated hitter Pedro Martínez to knock off Fort Worth, 5-4, at Stars Field. Martínez was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. Bart Pettifer, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 8 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 4-1. Picking up the save was Shih-k'ai Mi, his 10th.
Also pitching in was Indian Wells right fielder Steve O'Farrell, who hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, O'Farrell was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Indian Wells manager Brad Anderson.
The Aeropostales have an impressive 25-11 record.
