Late Magic Gets Champaign 6-4 Win
|
The Champaign Chiefs downed the Fort Worth Cats, 6-4, at Orange Field. Ron Acker led the way, going 3-for-4 for Champaign. Yo Fukuda earned the save for Champaign, his 6th of the year. The Chiefs are now 15-18, while the Cats fall to 21-12.
Juan Flores went 1-3. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Champaign. In the bottom of the eighth, with the teams deadlocked, 4-4, Flores delivered for the Chiefs. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put Champaign on top, 5-4.
"I felt good up there," said Flores. "I saw the ball well."
