Acapulco pitcher José Aguirre gave the Horseman all they could handle, but in the end, Amarillo left Underdogs Ballpark with a 3-1 win. Aguirre allowed 1 earned run on 4 hits over 6 innings. The Banditos fall to 12-16 and continue their uneven start to the 2028 season.

Yasuhiko Sato made it 2-1 in favor of Amarillo when he delivered a solo home run. It came with no one out in the top of the eighth. The Horseman went on to win.

"We're feeling pretty good in this clubhouse right now after that one," Sato told the Amarillo Daily.
