Albuquerque Wins, Purujit goes 3-for-4
|
The Albuquerque Cacti beat the Scranton Escape, 10-6, at Hell Stadium. Albuquerque right fielder Muralidaran Purujit earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Albuquerque reliever Ángel González was credited with the win, to go to 3-0. Brant Buchanan took the loss for Scranton. The win lifts Albuquerque to a record of 16-14.
Garfield, New Jersey-born Toby Stamm came through in the clutch. In the top of the fifth, with the bases loaded and the Cacti trailing 4-3, he hit a 2-run double to left to put Albuquerque on top.
Stamm said afterward that he was glad to help his team win.
