Aeropostales Deal Baristas 5-4 Setback
|
In a close game at Stars Field, the Indian Wells Aeropostales edged the Silver Lake Baristas, 5-4. Indian Wells left fielder Apupa Ekachakra earned the nod as player of the game. He went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Shih-k'ai Mi earned the save, his 8th, for the Aeropostales. The Aeropostales keep rolling, raising their record to 18-10.
The Aeropostales beat the Baristas in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Juan Salgado produced in the bottom of the sixth. Batting against Silver Lake pitcher Jaime Cardenas, Salgado gave his team a 4-3 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Silver Lake manager Chris MacArtney.
