Jersey shortstop Wen Chien had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 11-10, to Bloomington at Celestrial Fields at Hermann Park. Chien was 2 for 2 with a triple and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The win was credited to Richard Rogers in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Mitsuharu Shionoya took the loss. The Jesters, now 10-5, continue their sluggish start.

The game came to an abrupt end with two out in the bottom of the 11th. On a pitch from Mitsuharu Shionoya, Michael Comelay struck out. It gave Bloomington the 11-10 walk-off win.

Comelay said afterward that he hoped the win would galvanize the team.
