Sabercats Subdue Indian Wells, 3-2
|
Mdewanketon Sabercats starter Juan Zorros pitched a strong game against the Indian Wells Aeropostales at Mystic Lake Stadium, leading the Sabercats to a 3-2 win. Zorros, now 2-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 2 earned runs. Jim Unknown got the save, the 1st for him this season.
With a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the fifth inning, second baseman Roberto Moreno delivered big for the Sabercats. Mdewanketon was leading 1-0 when he belted a 2-run home run.
Indian Wells manager Brad Anderson said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
The loss drops Indian Wells to 17-10.
