South Bay used a superb performance from starting pitcher Raúl Coronado to down the Des Moines Spartans, 8-1. Coronado went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. His record improves to 2-2. The win brings the Arsenal to 11-16, a soft start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.

Bhasin Maqbool helped out the South Bay cause in the top of the seventh inning with a 3-run home run. For the game, the designated hitter went 2-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.
