Banditos Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Phantoms
|
Anastasio Buchanan helped his team muscle past the Coronado Phantoms, 7-3. In the game, the Acapulco designated hitter went 3-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Acapulco reliever Michael West picked up the win to move to 1-0. Shoichi Ikeda suffered the loss. With the win, Acapulco goes to 11-11.
Bill Wilcox, who is tied for 7th in the KSL in RBI with 20, helped out the Acapulco cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the center fielder drove in one run.
In postgame remarks, Buchanan said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
