Sasquatch Stumble, Lose to Mafia
New York starter Curt Rhodes kept the Seattle hitters in check, while his team cruised to a 9-2 win. Rhodes went the distance for New York. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. The Sasquatch, at 4-11, have stumbled out of the gate.

There were several reasons the Mafia beat the Sasquatch, but one factor was Doug White. In the bottom of the fifth, the New York first baseman came to bat and hit a run-scoring double. It staked his team to a 3-2 lead.

"We took it on the chin today," said losing manager Carl Best.
