Baristas Reel Off Another Win
|
Marcos Marino pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Mdewanketon Sabercats, despite Marino's fine outing, dropped a 1-0 decision to the Silver Lake Baristas at Ashton Gate. The win was credited to Jon Morris in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Marcos Marino took the loss. With their winning streak at 6, the Baristas have raced to a strong start this season.
In the bottom of the fifth inning of a 0-0 tie, Silver Lake designated hitter Mike Ryan hit a sacrifice fly. It broke the deadlock and put Silver Lake on top, 1-0.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Silver Lake skipper Chris MacArtney. "I can't complain."
