Flash Get 6-3 Win Versus Fort Worth
|
The Fairfield Flash picked up a win at Durham Bulls Athletic Park, knocking off the Fort Worth Cats, 6-3. Starting pitcher Ramón Gómez, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Gómez picked up the win for Fairfield, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 2-2. The save was credited to Teguh Suharto, his 4th.
Also having an impact was second baseman Yodo Chikuda, who stroked a run-scoring double in the bottom of the first for Fairfield. For the game, Chikuda was 1 for 2 with a double and 2 walks.
"Ramón is still learning," said Fairfield Flash manager Gary Altman. "The sky's the limit for him."
The win takes Fairfield to 8-7.
