Fort Worth overcame a superlative game from Yeong-suk Kim to beat Fairfield, 3-2. The Fairfield pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of shutout ball. Fort Worth reliever Alejandro Gonzáles picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Teguh Suharto absorbed the loss. Trey Burrell nailed down his 2nd save.

This game went down to the wire. In the top of the ninth, Pedro Martínez had a big at-bat. With one out, the Fort Worth designated hitter hit a 2-run single, to put his team up, 3-2.

"Been a rough stretch for us," said Fairfield manager Gary Altman.

With the loss, Fairfield sinks to 7-6.
