The Albuquerque Cacti beat the Champaign Chiefs, 10-4, at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. Albuquerque second baseman Kinnojo Iwamoto earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. At 7-4, the Cacti have played well so far.

Parking one for Albuquerque was Muralidaran Purujit. The right fielder had a 3-run home run in the bottom of the third for the Cacti. It put his team ahead, 4-1, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Purujit went 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Albuquerque manager Jorge Velásquez.
