Wichita starter James Morris had a strong outing against the Fairfield Flash at Bulldog Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. Alberto Guzmán finished the game for Wichita and earned his 3rd save. The Wranglers raised their record to 5-7.

Wichita first baseman Darby Caples contributed to the cause with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Caples went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"They played a better game than we did," said Fairfield skipper Gary Altman.
