Big Day for Roux as Wranglers Down Flash, 7-4
|
The Wichita Wranglers stopped the Fairfield Flash, 7-4, at Bulldog Stadium. The Wranglers got a big game from Lorenzo Roux, who went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Jason Davis, the winner, improved to 1-2. He held Fairfield to 2 runs on 4 hits over 7 innings, while racking up 8 strikeouts. Getting the save was Alberto Guzmán, his 2nd.
A defensive miscue in the bottom of the sixth cost the Flash. With Wichita leading 3-2, Patrick Childs reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. Wichita ended up winning the ballgame.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Wichita manager Claudio Rojas.
With the win, Wichita improves its record to 4-7.
