Loss Extends Fort Worth Losing Streak

In a well-pitched game between the Des Moines Spartans and the Fort Worth Cats, pitcher Tyler Wakeford was superb. The Des Moines right-hander was named the player of the game in Des Moines's 3-1 win. Eliot Moreau earned the save for Des Moines, his 2nd. Des Moines has a mark of 3-4 after the win.
Parking one for Des Moines was José Morín. The right fielder had a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth for the Spartans. It put his team ahead, 3-1, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Morín went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
