Kato Leads Flash to Win over Baristas
|
Yasushi Kato helped his team muscle past the Silver Lake Baristas, 12-6. In the game, the Fairfield right fielder was 3 for 5 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 times and driving in 6. Fairfield, now 7-1, is setting the league on fire so far.
Kato contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing triple, for Fairfield in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Kato took a slider from Kaoru Kato and stroked the triple to right. His 1st triple of the season allowed the Flash to leap in front, 3-1.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Fairfield manager Gary Altman.
