Rice goes 3-for-5 as Banditos Squeeze Past Scranton
James Rice was the difference-maker for the Acapulco Banditos in what turned into a shootout with the Scranton Escape. Rice earned the player of the game award after going 3-for-5 in the 10-9 Banditos win. Acapulco reliever Ralph Bergeron picked up the win to move to 1-0. Mei-shan Chin suffered the loss. With the win, Acapulco elevates its record to 3-2.

In the top of the third inning, Acapulco got a break when Rice went to the plate. With one out, the bases loaded and the Banditos trailing 7-3, Rice hit a grand slam.

"Ugly win or not, we'll take it," said Rice.
