Tight Tilt Goes to Cacti, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Albuquerque Cacti and the Indian Wells Aeropostales, Darren de Koning was the difference-maker. The Albuquerque right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-2 win. Troy Dyer earned his 2nd save in 2 tries. With the win, Albuquerque improves its record to 3-2.
In the bottom of the 5th, Albuquerque took the lead on a 2-run double by Matt Wilkerson. At the time, the Cacti were trailing 2-1, but Wilkerson's hit with two outs against Indian Wells pitcher Bart Pettifer put them in front, 3-2.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Wilkerson.
