Aeropostales Hope Opening Day Win Bodes Well for Season
|
The Indian Wells Aeropostales opened their 2028 season with a triumph over the Coronado Phantoms at Stars Field. The final score was 6-4. Indian Wells left fielder Shaun Sharp had a big game. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Fred Watson picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-0. He struck out 6 in 7.1 innings. Shih-k'ai Mi recorded his 1st save for Indian Wells.
Indian Wells grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the sixth, when Sharp, who is rated as the 84th best prospect by BNN, hit a run-scoring single. His 2nd hit of the season put the Aeropostales out in front, 5-4.
"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," said Sharp. "But I like how we're playing right now."
