Hitmen Solve Earthquakes, 5-4
|
San Francisco third baseman Adam Kerr was sensational. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Chicago beat the Earthquakes, 5-4. Kerr was named the player of the game despite the loss. Picking up the save was Ch'ang-chieh Tann, his 37th. The 5th-place Hitmen have won 4 straight.
Pat Pittman put Chicago in front, 5-0, when he hit a 2-run home run off Gonzalo Ramírez in the top of the second. It was his 13th home run of the season.
"We squandered some opportunities," said San Francisco manager Dan Thibodeaux.
