Woodard Leads Black Knights to Win over Codebreakers
Artie Woodard left his imprint on the 12-6 Brooklyn win against the Columbus Codebreakers. Woodard went 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Jan Shirazi, credited with the win, is now 6-6. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits in 7.1 innings. The Black Knights go to 73-65, putting them second in the Roberto Clemente League William Atteberry Division.

Woodard contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Brooklyn in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 2-1, Woodard took a fastball from Greg Finley and stroked the home run to left. His 11th home run of the season allowed the Black Knights to leap in front, 3-2.

"It feels good to get this one," Woodard told the Brooklyn Gazette.
