Oklahoma City Prowlers starter Lewis Portsmouth kept the Eureka Hornets hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. The winning pitcher was Portsmouth, now 6-8. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 4. Oklahoma City now sits at 59-78, while Eureka falls to 78-59.
The Prowlers took the lead in the top of the fifth when Wynn Rose banged a two-out single. Oklahoma City had been trailing 2-1, but Rose hit a 2-1 changeup from Prabodh Nimbalkar for a 2-run single.
"I thought we played a nice game," Rose told the Oklahoma City Observer. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
