Trude, Jacks Too Much for Bombers
|
The Jacksonville Jacks easily defeated the South Carolina Bombers, 14-4, at Bomber Ballpark, with center fielder Jason Trude a main contributor to the win. He was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2 for Jacksonville. Jesús Ramos got the win, improving to 11-8. He worked 7.2 innings, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 6. At 72-66, Jacksonville is in 5th place in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.
Bob Miller was 1 for 4 with a walk for Jacksonville. With no one out and the game tied in the top of the sixth, Miller, who was drafted in the two round of the 2022 draft, had a clutch at-bat. Facing South Carolina hurler Aidan Carrick, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the Jacks a 4-3 lead.
"We swung the bats pretty good throughout the lineup," said Jacksonville skipper Chris Schell.
