Jersey withstood an impressive performance by Las Vegas catcher Ralph Blair to defeat the Gamblers, 6-3, at The Ballpark at Potomac Yard . Blair was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Jersey reliever Su-gyung Park picked up the win to move to 4-1. Jason Davis suffered the loss. Jersey, at 67-68, sits in 6th place in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.
Merrill Burnett helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run home run to give Jersey a 2-0 lead.
Burnett attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
