Armada Topple Tornadoes with Late Rally

The Quebec Armada and Kansas City Tornadoes put on a pitchers' duel at Lucky 7 Ballpark.
Quebec overcame a superlative game from Loeck Jurgens to beat Kansas City, 2-1. The Kansas City pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball. The winner was Quebec reliever Baldassario Ardinghi, now 3-3. The loser was Loeck Jurgens.
Shunso Fukuda said the idea of hitting a home run crossed his mind when he came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Fukuda belted a 2-run home run to stake Quebec to a 2-1 lead. His 20th home run of the season came off Kansas City pitcher Loeck Jurgens.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Alex Woods.
The Armada improved to 66-70.
